Mark of a Pro 11.25-inch Pro I Web Infielder's Glove
This Mark of a Pro glove features the PRO I Web pattern, which is a single post reinforced bottom web that conforms to a smaller lighter web pattern desired by infielders, this allows you to better shape the pocket. With its 11" pattern and shallow pocket, this glove was designed for positions that require the players to use two hands to scoop the ball such as middle infielders, especially shortstops that want to use the two hand scooping function. The Mark of a Pro Series features an oiled leather shell and Pro Taper design which provides an improved fit offering increased control for younger players wanting a pro style pattern. Zero Shock sting palm pads are placed inside the glove to help sting reduction as well.
Pro I Web
The I Web was designed and patented by Rawlings in 1940. A single post reinforced bottom web conforms to a smaller, lighter web style desired by infielders. As the web does not tie to the crotch of the glove, the laces allow you to better shape the pocket.

Choosing a Glove
Position
| Glove Characteristics
|
Catcher | These gloves have no finger channels, with heavy palm padding and overall reinforcements to reduce the sting of repeatedly catching pitchers' throws.
|
Pitcher (Infield) | Choose a mid-size glove that's easy to control. Closed and Modified Trap webs work best at this position, letting you disguise your pitches by hiding the ball. |
First Base (Infield) | These gloves also lacks finger channels, but with less padding that a catcher's mitt, with added length to help catch infield throws and a shallow pocket, enabling quick ball retrieval.
|
Second Base (Infield) | Choose a smaller glove with a shallow pocket, balancing control with the need to make quick throws.
|
Short Stop (Infield) | Go to a smaller/mid size glove with a shallow pocket for ground balls and quick throws. |
Third Base (Infield) | Choose a medium to large glove with a shallow to mid-size pocket for maximum catching power.
|
Outfield | Choose a longer glove to provide extended reach, with a deep pocket to handle high-lofting balls.
